New Comedy ‘Homecoming Queen’ Will Star Tiffany Haddish
Tiffany Haddish will be starring in the new comedy Homecoming Queen that is based on her previous trip to Africa.
The Like a Boss actress will star and produce the new movie alongside the production company Amblin Partners. Amblin is run by Steven Spielberg. The story is inspired by her trip to Africa, where she thought she was royalty. She then realized that the label of royalty has a whole different meaning there.
Raamla Mohamed, a writer on Scandal and co-executive producer on Little Fires Everywhere, will create the script. The film’s director has not yet been confirmed.
Haddish keeps busy with her career, gaining many acting credits each year. She rose to stardom after playing the role of Dina in Girls Trip. She also starred in the television series The Carmichael Show as Nekeisha.
More recently she can be seen as Trina in Bad Trip, Leila in Self Made: Inspired by the Life of Madam C.J. Walker, as well as three new movies currently in production. Here Today, On the Count of Three, and The Card Counter will all be released in the near future.
Her awards are stacking up and they are well deserved. She was the first African American stand-up comedian to host Saturday Night Live (SNL), earning her an Emmy Award for Guest Actress in a Comedy Series in 2017. Haddish also won Best Actress at the BET Awards for the 2018 movie Girls Trip.
