Singer Becky G dropped her newest single, “My Man,” and a music video to go along with it.
Becky G couldn’t contain her excitement for the release of her newest single. The singer hosted a YouTube live session to talk with fans and share their reactions an hour before “My Man” was dropped last night. The singer teased the song on her Instagram earlier this week, showing a video game inspired look with her and her boyfriend, and fans went wild.
“My Man” serves as the second single released after “They Ain’t Ready” which was released earlier this year.
The new song is an ode to her boyfriend but not in a sentimental or sappy way. The catchy song is a fun and flirty expression of female empowerment and takes on the narrative of sticking by your man’s side through ups and downs. The singer shared with Twitter that the inspiration behind “My Man” is the song “La Gran Señora” by the late Jenni Rivera.

The music video stars the singer and her real-life boyfriend, LA Galaxy soccer player Sebastian Lletget. The video was shot at their home and features the two acting in a video game-inspired theme together, sharing their competitive sides while still spending time with each other.
