Pitch Perfect star Skylar Astin confirmed that he is dating Fancy Sprinkles CCO Lisa Stelly, but he wants the world to know it on his terms.

On July 11, the relationship between Skylar Astin and Lisa Stelly became known to the public, as they took to social media to put their love on full display.

Unfortunately, because the pair were now “Instagram official,” news outlets had a new story to pick up.

“New couple alert! Skylar Astin and Jack Osbourne’s ex-wife, Lisa Stelly, Instagram official,” US Weekly headlined an article and the tweet promoting it.

Astin was not alright with his girlfriend being reduced to nothing more than someone else’s ex-wife, so he fought back and called US Weekly out for it.

“Correction: I am dating FOUNDER, ENTREPRENEUR, MOTHER, CCO, etc, Lisa Stelly. Treat your ladies better, media!” Astin wrote back on Twitter. 

The headline has since been changed to include Stelly’s title of “Fancy Sprinkles Founder.”

It’s an all-too-common occurrence in mainstream media that women get written about in correlation with frivolous things, such as their love life, rather than their accomplishments.

While Lisa Stelly is in fact Jack Osbourne’s ex-wife, she is also the mother to their three children, a former actress and model, and founder of the popular ice cream and cake decorating company, Fancy Sprinkles.

Skylar is clearly proud of his girlfriend and wants her accomplishments put on full-display, just as he would want for any other woman being discussed in the news. 

Lisa Stelly is a mother, a CCO, and as Astin put it, a “#SprinkleQueen.”

They might only be a new couple, but if this is the way that their relationship is starting, then Skylar Astin and Lisa Stelly have a long, promising, and positive road ahead of them.
