The Jonas Brothers Are Using Their Platform to Help Increase Voter Turnout

The Jonas Brothers are partnering with Michelle Obama’s non-profit organization, When We All Vote, to encourage followers to vote in the general elections on November 3rd. 

The Jonas Brothers recently posted a short video to their official Instagram (@jonasbrothers) page and respective Instagrams (@kevinjonas, @joejonas, @nickjonas) to tell followers that there are less than 100 days until the general elections. Calling the election “one of the most important elections of our lifetimes,” the brothers asked everyone eligible to register to vote and commit to voting in November.

“The challenges we face as a country from the emergence of COVID-19 to police violence and racial bias, your involvement in this fight is more important than ever,” said the brothers. “The decisions our elected officials make impact our lives on every level, from school board members to governors, to members of Congress. We want every eligible voter to know that their voice and their vote matters.”

The Jonas Brothers have been very vocal this election season on social media, continuing to post reminders of different state primaries in the past two months. They have also announced that they are committed to amplifying the voices of the LGBTQ+ communities in elections. 

When We All Vote is a non-profit, nonpartisan organization that aims to increase voter turnout and close the race and age voting gap by changing the culture around voting. It is co-founded by former first lady Michelle Obama, actor Tom Hanks, composer Lin-Manuel Miranda, singer-songwriter Janelle Monae, basketball player Chris Paul, singer Faith Hill, and singer Tim McGraw.

“You’re the only person that can have that conversation with your family and your friends… and even with your community to get them registered and ready to vote,” the co-chairs of When We All Vote said. “We need you to draft your own championship voting squad. It’s up to you to change the game because when we squad up when we make our voices heard when we all vote, we can change the world.”
