Keke Palmer is added to the new series on Disney+, The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder.

Actress, singer, and television personality, Keke Palmer, is voicing a new role in the upcoming revival of The Proud Family.

The hit-show originally aired in 2001 and ended in 2005. All previous seasons are currently available on Disney+.

Back in February of this year, Disney announced their revival of the show in an upcoming original series entitled The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder. The show is said to include various members of the original cast including Kyla Pratt (Penny), Tommy Davidson (Oscar), and Paula Jai Parker (Trudy).

Earlier today, both Disney+ and Keke Palmer went to social media to share the news of her new character. Palmer will be voicing a 14-year-old activist names Maya Leibowitz-Jenkins.

The role seems fitting for Palmer as she has greatly expressed her own activism during the Black Lives Matter movement including being on the front lines at Los Angeles protests.

The revival will, like the original, be focused on the life of the main character Penny Proud and her hilarious family and friends.

The NAACP hosted a discussion with the cast of the upcoming series, moderated by Palmer.

Although a premiere date has not yet been announced, fans are more than excited for the revival of this show just after Palmer’s announcement as the host of the 2020 VMA’s.

Congratulations to Keke Palmer. She is still booked and busy despite some setbacks. We can’t wait to see what else she has in store for us. Follow Keke Palmer on Instagram to keep up with her.
