Serena Williams Donates 4.25 Million Face Masks to Underserved Schools
Serena Williams announced a partnership with Bella + Canvas, the National Board Association, who vowed to donate 4.25 million face masks to over 115,000 schools in need.
Due to face masks becoming a new essential in back-to-school supplies, Serena is aiming to make these unusual circumstances, a much smoother transition. Being that Serena is a mother herself, it is her goal to ensure children’s safety in returning back to school in the fall amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Serena took to Instagram on Wednesday, July 29th, and publicized this charitable contribution.
In regards to Serena’s Instagram post, she mentioned her donation was made possible through the #MaskForKids program, which offers schools access to budget-friendly educational tools and face masks. Additionally, Bella + Canvas will donate a mask after each purchase made by the schools.
God bless you Serena and your family. Your actions will save many kids lives. We live in very dark days but the light always shines. Thank you 🙏🏽 #masksforkids
