Blink-182 Drops Their Newest Song, ‘Quarantine’
On August 6, 2020, Blink-182 released a new isolation edition song, “Quarantine.”
Formed in 1992, Blink-182 is an American rock band, known for many famous singles like “All The Small Things” and “I Miss You.” Together, the two listed tracks have accumulated almost 1 billion streams on Spotify. The band’s latest single “Quarantine” is an anthem of many, and expresses the underlying feelings of being in the COVID-19 lockdown.
The band has four members, Tom DeLonge, Mark Hoppus, Matt Skiba, and Travis Barker. On August 10, Barker, a record producer, songwriter, and the band’s lead drummer, published a special version of “Quarantine” on YouTube. Take a look down below.

Blink-182 also announced the drop of their quarantine edition merchandise line, which was quickly sold out by its most avid fans. “Quarantine” is the band’s first song since the drop of their 2019 album, Nine. Nine contains 16 songs, most of which accumulated millions of views on YouTube. In only a couple of days, “Quarantine” has been streamed 1.3 million times on Spotify.

The song accurately expresses the emotions of people who feel frustrated, bored, and isolated due to quarantine. “Quarantine” was recorded remotely during the COVID-19 social distancing order and it is evidently influenced by early 1990s punk music. The new track contains a strong political message, displaying the group members’ growing disillusionment with the current state of American politics. We hope to hear more of blink-182’s music soon, but in the meantime, we will continue to listen to their other iconic songs, such as “The Rock Show” and “I Really Wish I Hated You.”
