Meghan Markle and Prince Harry Settle Down in Santa Barbara

Since their split from the royal family, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have settled into their new family home in Santa Barbara, California as of July 2020.

In January 2020, the famous couple broke from the royal family and announced that they would be giving up their historic titles. They subsequently left the United Kingdom due to conflicts between the press and Markle and cited that they wanted to gain financial independence from the powerful monarchy. They announced this news to the public via a statement posted on Instagram.

After cutting ties, the power couple initially moved Canada, and then shortly after relocated to the L.A. area in California. Then, amidst the global pandemic, the couple recently decided to leave and settle on the central Californian coast. They have settled into a quiet neighborhood in which they can escape the public eye and maintain a level of privacy. The royal couple has neighbors that also like to keep their personal lives private, including former television host Oprah Winfrey.
