‘The Patriot Act’ Hosted by Hasan Minhaj Is Hear-By Cancelled

The Patriot Act with Hasan Minhaj on Netflix has received many accolades, unfortunately, it won’t be continuing beyond season six.
Since the talk show premiered in October 2018, 39 episodes and six seasons have been released. It has also received an Emmy, Peabody Award, and was adored by many, but due to the coronavirus, the last season was deferred until June, which was when the show stopped airing. The show, in its entirety, will remain on Netflix for viewers to enjoy.
The show was notable for their topical discussion about culture and politics. In the most recent episodes, Minhaj discussed George Floyd’s death from police brutality, the upcoming election, and the coronavirus pandemic.
Talk shows like the Patriot Act are difficult to continue to produce because of the ratio of production cost heavily outweighing the number of viewers. Other shows with similar premises were canceled by Netflix as well, like Chelsea and The Break.
I will forever maintain that @patriotact has been one of the most important, intelligent, funny, and necessary shows of our time. Thank you @hasanminhaj – I can never properly express how grateful I am for you! https://t.co/LRaiHGPrke

Shows like Minhaj’s were bringing light and amplifying the voices of the BIPOC community. This show has no doubt allowed other shows to follow in its open-minded footsteps to pave the way for more diversity on television screens everywhere. Looking up to unapologetic people who have faced adversity based on their ethnicity will allow a change in the world around us.
It may be the end of the show, but its impact is just beginning and will carry on.
