Little Mix Celebrates the Day That Changed Their Lives Nine Years Ago
Join Mixers all around the world to celebrate nine years of Little Mix.
Back in 2011, Perrie Edwards, Jesy Nelson, Leigh-Anne Pinnock, and Jade Thirlwall auditioned as solo artists on the show The X Factor UK. In a turn of events, to stay in the competition, they were put together into a girl group.
Nine years ago today our lives changed forever. Doing what we love every day with each other has been beyond our wildest dreams. Thank you to each and every one of you that’s supported us along the way, we love you more than words ❤️ #9YearsOfLittleMix pic.twitter.com/0uXtXu4jmP

The result was magical. With a sweet charisma and killer harmonies, the girls won the audience instantly. In December 2011, they were the first group ever to win The X Factor UK.
They’ve released four more albums throughout their career, with LM5 being their most recent album, which was released in 2018. However, back in July of 2020, Little Mix released a brand new single called “Holiday” along with a karaoke lyric video.
The girls have been working on other projects recently, using their platforms to create awareness on important issues.
Nelson released her documentary Odd One Out in 2019, where she spoke about her struggles with mental health and cyberbullying. The film was intimate and raw, showing how Nelson connects with others as she starts to love herself more.
Pinnock recently announced on Instagram that she has been working on a documentary based on colorism and racism. She is using her platform to let a broader audience be in the conversation.
Thirlwall is a constant advocate and ally for the LGBTQ+ community.
Edwards has opened up to Glamour UK about how she struggles with loving herself.
Over these past nine years, these incredible women have demonstrated to their fans that they have struggles just like them. They have taught women that, although learning to love yourself will take a while, “sexiest is when [your] confident,” as their song “Strip” says.
