Louisville Has Been Protesting for Breonna Taylor for 83 Days Straight

It’s been over five months since the murder of Breonna Taylor, and Louisville is still marching strong while saying her name.

After losing one of its loving members, Louisville, KY is now on day 83 of consecutive protesting in the name of Breonna Taylor. Protestors are begging for the officers responsible for her death to be arrested. This 12 week-long protest has not gained any attention on national news, meaning almost nobody knows what’s occurring.

Almost 200 days after her murder, Jonathan Mattingly, Brett Hankison, and Myles Cosgrove still walk free without any charges to their name.

Taylor was murdered in her home on March 13, 2020, and at the time of her death, hardly made headlines. After the murder of George Floyd in May, the Black Lives Matter movement came into light to raise awareness for his story. Among the outrage and marches of the movement, Taylor’s story was finally shared with the world.

#SayHerName was a phrase that was chanted at protests all across the world, making everyone aware of what happened to her on the night she was wrongfully murdered. This killing was no accident, and the three cops who are responsible need to be held accountable for their actions.

The world will stop at nothing short of that happening. As for Louisville, they will continue marching and protesting to raise awareness for their sweet Breonna Taylor, who was taken all too quickly from her community.
