The Powerpuff Girls Are Getting a Live-Action Adaptation
The Powerpuff Girls are coming back thanks to Greg Berlanti.
Berlanti, along with writers Diablo Cody and Heather Renier, created their version of The Powerpuff Girls. Turns out isn’t a rework but a continuation of sorts. We follow the lives of Blossom, Bubbles, and Buttercup as they go through their twenties dealing with resentment from losing their childhood, all while trying to join forces again to save the world. It is an interesting take of our favorite trio, seeing them balance their powers and daily responsibilities.
Berlanti is best known for his works such as Riverdale, The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, and You. He has previously worked with CW for the Arrowverse universe.
In case you aren’t familiar with the original plot, The Powerpuff Girls, created by Craig McCracken, is an animated series from 1998. The show had its first debut on Cartoon Network. The series followed the lives of three superhero sisters, Bubbles, Blossoms, and Buttercup, who were created in a lab by Professor Utonium, the man who becomes their father.
His idea was to have three perfect girls, but he accidentally added the “Chemical X” which gave them powers. The three girls would proceed to fight against crime almost every day while still going to school.
to the writers of the live action #powerpuffgirls show, lemme remind you on how the #KimPossible movie did.
where our kick ass female spy Kim Possible, Who has been kicking villain’s asses for 5 years, now spends the movie crying because some girl can use a stick better then her pic.twitter.com/roZpPIGJpO

Not too many people are excited about this adaptation. After all, many childhood cartoon were reworked and have failed to live up to the original expectation. We sure hope this show ends up as good as his other works.
