Lili Reinhart from the hit CW show Riverdale is doing her best to spread awareness of the importance of body positivity.

Riverdale follows main characters Betty, Jughead, Archie, and Veronica as they deal with all the mysteries the town of Riverdale holds. Reinhart plays Betty CooperThe show is heading into its fifth season, where they will be doing a time jump after high school graduation.

In her recent LA Times interview, Reinhart mentions her intention of spreading positivity to viewers of Riverdale. During a scene, her character had to wear undergarments that revealed her waist, legs, and stomach. Reinhart hoped to spread awareness with that scene that there isn’t any type of perfect ideal body.

She stated, ” I can’t preach body positivity if I don’t practice it. So even if I’m not feeling amazing about my body, I felt it was important for me to do the scene anyway in my bra and underwear so people could see my body as it was. I did it for the people who feel like they need to look a certain way. You go on Instagram, and I’m like, ‘Oh, look, all these people with these beautifully toned bodies’ and then go to the beach — does anyone on the beach in the real world look like that?” She continued, “I don’t see anyone looking like this. Instagram and Victoria’s Secret runways are not a portrayal of how people look in real life.”

Fans are grateful that Reinhart never shies away from the important and meaningful issues.

Being a role model is such a huge responsibility, but Reinhart is doing an amazing job by using her platform for such important topics and to teach her audience to love their bodies. The message of self love and body positivity is so significant.

Reinhart has a new movie out now called Chemical Hearts and has a new poetry book coming out in September as well called Swimming Lessons: Poems. We love seeing her succeed in all these different ways and branching out from Riverdale.
