The movie is based on the book Sorta Like a Rock Star by Matthew Quick. Amber, played by Cravalho, is an optimistic high school student that lives in a school bus with her alcoholic mother. Amber has a voice to die for and the dream of going to Carnegie Mellon.

The movie is directed by Brett Haley, who is best known for his works The Hero and Hearts Beat Loud. It is a story of finding hope in the darkest of times. The film also stars Rhenzy Feliz, Judy Reyes, Taylor Richardson, C.S. Lee, Anthony Jacques Jr., and Gerald Isaac Waters.

Crahalvo is also currently working on Amazon’s thriller The Power. Playing older roles has given her the opportunity of showcasing tougher emotions. She wants to keep pursuing acting but also wants to go to college. At only 19, the world is her oyster.
