Miley Cyrus Performs ‘Midnight Sky’ at the 2020 MTV VMAs
Miley Cyrus gave an incredible performance of her latest single “Midnight Sky” for the first time at last night’s MTV VMAs.
Cyrus, who performed solo, started the performance in an empty room with a simple circular stage. By the end of her act, she paid homage to the infamous music video of her 2013 hit “Wrecking Ball” by sitting on top of a glittering disco ball.
For her show-stopping performance, Cyrus wore a two-piece glitter ensemble and was covered from head to toe in jewels, donning a new, short hairdo. She stunned fans earlier in the evening with her red-carpet look consisting of a sheer black dress paired with gold hoops and bright red lipstick.
This performance comes a year after her iconic VMA live performance of 2019’s “Slide Away.” This isn’t the first time Cyrus took the stage in 2020. The singer joined Global Citizen’s Global Goal: Unite for Our Future with a rendition of the Beatles’ song “Help!” in July.
The “Malibu” singer was nominated for three awards of the night and went home with wins for Best Art Direction and Best Editing for the music video for her song “Mother’s Daughter.”
Cyrus’ “Midnight Sky” performance gave fans a small taste of what her upcoming album titled, She is Miley Cyrus will bring. The release date for her new album is currently being kept under wraps.
