Jennifer Aniston, Brad Pitt, Julia Roberts and More Act Out ‘Fast Times at Ridgemont High’
On September 18, the most talented and critically acclaimed actors and actresses of Hollywood joined a Zoom call to act out a table read of the 1982 classic, Fast Times at Ridgemont High.
The table read had an impressive list, staring the A-list celebrities: Jennifer Aniston, Dane Cook, Morgan Freeman, Henry Golding, Jimmy Kimmel, Shia Labeouf, John Legend, Ray Liotta, Matthew McConaughey, Sean Penn, Brad Pitt and Julia Roberts. The goal of the organization is to raise money for Core and Reform Alliance, charities that hope to lessen the effect of the pandemic and aid areas most affected by it, particularly prisons.
With a hilarious script, each actor and actress gave an unforgettable comedic performance re-enacting the most iconic scenes from this retro blockbuster. The premise of Fast Times at Ridgemont High centers around 5 teenagers in the 80’s dealing with typical teenage problems—boys, school, drama. The most renown character from the film is undoubtedly Jeff Spicoli, the originator of the “stoner surfer guy” stereotype.
In the table reading, Julia Roberts plays the main protagonist, Stacy and Jennifer Anniston plays her best friend, Linda. Brad Pitt plays Stacy’s older brother, Brad, and Mathew McConaughey plays Stacy’s love interest, Mike. Shia Labeouf gives an outstanding performance as Spicoli, truly diving into the “stoner” archetype. The script is narrated by Morgan Freeman.
A big topic of interest for fans is the reunion of Pitt and Aniston, who were famously married from 2000 to 2005. No hard feelings seemed to be present, as the actors shared several scenes and laughs together.

LaBoeuf’s performance of Spicoli was hilarious, smoking weed and appearing to move around, sometimes disappearing off camera. Adding his own twist to the loveable character, it is clear why he was the glue of the reading.
