Marc Jacobs x Dr. Martens Is the New Collaboration You Need to Have in Your Closet

The two sought-after brands, Marc Jacobs and Dr. Martens are joining forces for the second time.

The first collaboration between the two came out in December of 2018. The style was the classic 1490 boot, which was cohesive with the 90’s nostalgia of the 25-year-old grunge runway show that the collab celebrated.

The second collaboration arrives 27 years later. This time, the collab is part of the iconic footwear brand’s ongoing 1460 remastered collection to celebrate its 60th anniversary, as stated by Fashion United. This Marc Jacobs collab will be the 9th exclusive drop in the collection.

Immediately after the announcement shared on Twitter, people are already falling in love with the beautiful and edgy design Marc Jacobs has brought us.

With this new design, Jacobs is referencing the ways in which customers have customized the boots over the footwear brand’s 60-year history. According to Hypebeast, Jacobs said about the launch of the collection, “Dr. Martens has long been a symbol of individuality and counterculture. Marc Jacobs and Dr. Martens are united in a strong sense of authenticity and having your voice heard.”

These upcoming boots will feature a completely vegan upper outfitted with gold charms including dice, whistles, locks, and keys. The footwear also has a co-branded tongue label and swing tag, as well as Dr. Martens’ signature yellow welt stitching and a vegan heel loop, as reported by Highsnobiety.
