As Halsey celebrates her 26th birthday today, she shares a special music video for her song “929” with fans.
I am 26 today. Here is a picture from the 1800s when I was born. pic.twitter.com/dkdS3fplnZ

The numbers may seem random at first glance, but they mean a great deal to Halsey. The singer was born on 9/29 at 9:29 AM. In the past, Halsey has bestowed a present to her fans on her birthday and the tradition continues this year.

In “929” Halsey reflects on her career and how she got to where she is now.
Halsey released her album Manic at the beginning of the year. As the closing to her album, “929” makes the listener feel comfortable, but jerks tears at the same time. Just like life, you can’t pin down the emotions the song brings. However, you know for certain it’s a good song that makes you look back at your life and reminisce.
The video, directed by Peter Donaghy, features pictures and videos from when she was younger. It’s very nostalgic and explains her childhood and her life from a child’s perspective.
Despite being a personal reference, it’s something that almost everyone can relate to because it’s a reminder of the good and bad moments throughout life.
Tomorrow is my birthday so of course I have presents for you the whole week.

“I really was born at 9:29 am on nine twenty-nine,” Halsey states at the beginning of the song. “You think I’m lying but I’m being dead serious. Okay, I’ll prove it.”
It’s been a pleasure to see you grow as a person and as a musician. You will always be a part of me. I love you so much, you are my inspiration (thanks to you, my drawing skills improved since 2015). Thanks for everything, love you and happy bday baby @halsey pic.twitter.com/81qpvpQi0s

This is one of the most personal and emotional songs Halsey has written and the video takes it to the next level because of the intimate home-recorded footage.

We wish Halsey the happiest of birthdays and hope the singer receives a lot of love on this special day.
