Gabrielle Union Reaches Resolution With NBC’s ‘America’s Got Talent’ Allegations
Gabrielle Union and California authorities came to a resolution this past Tuesday on the allegations made by the former judge.
Union filed a complaint against America’s Got Talent this past June after being fired from the show.
She commented that she was fired after disagreeing to remain silent about the work environment and culture she was experiencing. She described the workplace as a “toxic culture” that needed to be addressed.
Union’s complaint was received by California’s Department of Fair Employment months after she left the show and only a week after an investigation with NBC was conducted.
There was no derogatory language about Union’s appearance or any factors related to race regarding elimination or advancement for contestants. The investigation found that the show “demonstrated an overall culture of diversity” but it also found “some areas in which reporting processes could be improved.”
This past Tuesday, Union came to a resolution with a joint statement between her and NBC. “We’ve reached an amicable resolution. NBC Entertainment appreciates the important concerns raised by Gabrielle Union and remains committed to ensuring an inclusive and supportive working environment where people of all backgrounds can be treated with respect.”
Fans are disappointed in the show and have even gone to the extent of no longer watching America’s Got Talent.

Many of the fans are demanding to boycott the show after Union’s allegations.

Union also addressed that former fellow judge, Simon Cowell, smokes on set with the producers. She was hesitant to address this situation.
She addressed the situation but was then told that “effectively nothing was going to change”.
Union has experienced much backlash following her complaints including being called difficult and being punished for speaking out on the issue. Her bravery is inspiring to all.
