In her interview with ELLE, Harris discussed topics such as her own experiences with racism from a young age, activism, her support for the Black Lives Matter movement, her recent experiences as Senator, and accepting her nominee as Biden’s running mate. A large part of Harris’ interview entailed her emotions and views on being a Black individual in America and the discrimination that comes with it.

She accounts for individuals such as Jacob Blake, and how Black individuals in America are not given the same justice and equality. Harris says “[Justice] is not about benevolence or charity; it is about every human being’s God-given right.”

She goes on to reveal her own thoughts about police corruption that has been the topic of many news and media feeds for the past months, explaining that many are still fighting for equality.

Harris supporters have enjoyed reading the interview on ELLE’s website, while also getting ready for Harris’ debate against Trump’s Republican running partner, Mike Pence, which will take place on Wednesday night, October 7.

Be ready to see the full issue, as Harris’ cover will be released election day, November 3, 2020.
