On Wednesday afternoon, V Magazine revealed 12 exclusive celebrity covers in an attempt to urge fans to vote in the upcoming election.

The 12 part series features a wide variety of celebrities who shared their intention to vote on November 3.

The covers were all shot by photographers Inez & Vinoodh and cast by Greg Krelenstein. The first cover reveal was model Bella Hadid who said she was voting to represent “the younger generation.”

“I am voting to represent the younger generation. We all have a lot to say and want to be as vocal as possible—voting is how we can put our thoughts into action and see the changes we want to see,” Hadid said.

Marvel’s Avengers star Chris Evans was the second cover to be shown to fans, and he took aim at Trump’s division in the country.

“I knew I had to begin work on my political engagement platform @AStartingPoint after Trump got elected. I disagree with a lot of Trump’s policies, and I personally have a very strong stance on that, which I vocalize on my social media,” Evans said. “But my biggest concern is that his methodology is designed to divide. He has never once made an effort to bring us together.”

Musician and activist Jaden Smith shared his decision to vote based on his unhappiness in how the Black community is being represented and heard.

“I’m voting because I haven’t been happy with the leadership,” Smith said. “I don’t feel as though I’m being represented or that I’m being listened to, or that the Black community is being represented or listened to at large. Things need to change, starting with how we treat the people of color in the nation, and how we’re allowing these systems of racism to still exist and for us to still follow them.”

Actress and singer Janelle Monáe said that the current administration is not listening to Black people, women, or the LGBTQ+ community.

“This country is on life support. The current administration is not even lending an ear to the people: Black people, women, the LGBTQIA+ community…The people I love,” Monáe said.

Oscar-winning actress Jennifer Lawrence revealed that she is casting her vote for Joe Biden and Kamala Harris, saying this election is the most “consequential of our lifetime.”

“Voting is the foundation of our democracy and our freedom. And I would consider this upcoming election the most consequential of our lifetime,” Lawrence said. “I’m voting for Joe Biden and Kamala Harris this year because Donald Trump has and will continue to put himself before the safety and well-being of America. He does not represent my values as an American, and most importantly as a human being.”

For her interview, Grammy-winning singer and activist Halsey spoke to V Magazine about the lives at current risk in our country and how their safety depends on the upcoming election.

“It’s more important to vote right now than it has ever been. There are millions of lives at risk, and if it’s not millions of lives, then it’s the safety and comfort of millions of lives,” Halsey said.

Mariah Carey, Taylor Swift, Julianne Moore, Janaya Future Khan, Megan Rapinoe, and Paperboy Prince make up the rest of the cover series with their solo interviews.
