Solange Rocks an Afro on the New Digital Cover of Harper’s Bazaar
Solange Knowles graces the new digital cover of Harper’s Bazaar and shares her personally written pieces reflecting on 2020 thus far.
Knowles looks flawless on Harper’s Bazaar‘s new Fall digital cover as she shows off her afro and a natural face. Knowles styled herself for the shoot, choosing pieces made by BIPOC designers. The Texas native also made sure to incorporate several knee-high boots into the shoot.
Although Knowles looked beautiful in the spread, what was most captivating about her feature was what she wrote, not what she wore. She penned an assortment of poems and essays reflecting on what a strange and tumultuous year 2020 has been.

Knowles offered words of encouragement and peace during such a difficult time for us all, where many are losing hope for a brighter future. Her pieces helped ease readers’ worries, and her fans are grateful for her words during one of the hardest years for many.

Knowles highlighted the difficulties we’ve all faced amidst the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and the pain and anger a lot of Black people have felt surrounding the Black Lives Matter movement and the recent killings of Black people at the hands of police.
She wrote of the rollercoaster of emotions she’s felt this year, with some good days and some bad. “Some days, I am on top of the mountains. Some days I am weary. Some days I smile and laugh in ways I didn’t know I could. Sometimes I grieve all of the loss, looking for pillars or anchors to hold on to,” she said.
