Singer-songwriter Billie Eilish has called for an end to body-shaming after a slew of viral tweets were posted to Twitter attacking her body just yesterday.

On Tuesday, Page Six published an article that featured a paparazzi shot of Eilish which garnered some negative attention from trolls on the internet. After body-shamers tweeted about the photo, Eilish and fans shot back at them, calling for an end to body-shaming.

This isn’t the first time the singer, who is known for her hits “Bad Guy,” “Ocean Eyes,” and “Bury A Friend,” has spoken out about body-shaming. In Eilish’s short film Not My Responsibility (2020), she called out cyberbullies and said“Would you like me to be smaller? Weaker? Softer? Taller? Do my shoulders provoke you?” In the video, she surprised fans by revealing more skin than she typically does, as her style usually consists of colorful, baggy ensembles.

Eilish addressed the offensive tweets on her Instagram by posting a photo from her short film with the caption, “do you really wanna go back in time?”

The singer’s fans also came to her defense and supported Eilish in her endeavor to normalize real bodies and push for body positivity, both online and offline. The support for Eilish has been so overwhelming, that she is now trending on Twitter.

Eilish seemed to acknowledge that she is trending by reposting a YouTube video of Chizi Duru on her Instagram (a YouTuber) talking about body positivity and normalizing the concept.

Although this isn’t the first time that Eilish has addressed this subject, we expect that it certainly won’t be the last. We look forward to hearing more from the singer about body positivity and normalizing real bodies. We cannot wait to hear more of Eilish’s music in the coming years. Go listen to her latest singles “My Future” and “No Time To Die” today.
