Giuliani has written a dynamic piece for Vanity Fair, urging their readers to vote.

However, Giuliani is not rooting for the re-election of President Trump like her father. Instead, Giuliani has officially endorsed candidates Joe Biden and Kamala Harris.

The filmmaker had often hidden her connection to Trump’s “yes-man,” but she decided that she could no longer stay silent. Giuliani recalled what it was like growing up with her father’s strong political views, and how she often debated with him as a child. LGBTQ+ rights, racial sensitivities, and policing were common topics of discussion between father and child, with Giuliani remembering her father being intense in his responses to her. Finally, she is choosing to use her life experiences and her platform to speak to people overwhelmed by today’s current political climate.

Giuliani has been using her social media, specifically Twitter, to encourage her followers to “stand and fight.” She also has no problem using Twitter to combat falsities shared by her father. Now she is turning from debating him to sharing her views with the rest of the country, in hope of shedding light on the corruption that her father and President Trump have unleashed in the U.S. “I may not be able to change my father’s mind, but together, we can vote this toxic administration out of office,” she writes.

In her piece, she shares that she hopes her encouragement, and the power of the people’s vote, will keep Americans from feeling as “hopeless and overwhelmed” as she did as a child. Giuliani wants this election to be a landslide win for Biden and Harris. She fears that Trump’s administration will try to dispute the election results if he loses, a fear shared by many.

Giuliani ends her writing with a profound line: “We are hanging by single, slipping finger on a cliff’s edge, and the fall will be fatal.” We are responsible for the future of our country, and like Giuliani, each of our voices deserved to be heard. Use your voice by registering to vote, and casting your vote on or before November 3, the future of our democracy is in our hands.
