Jared Leto Returns as the Joker in ‘Justice League’ and a New Version of ‘Suicide Squad’
Jared Leto has joined the shooting for additional footage of Snyder Cut.
Zack Snyder’s Justice League, also known as Snyder’s Cut, is Snyder’s version of the 2017 Justice League. Snyder was the director of the 2017 Justice League until he was forced to exit due to a family emergency.
Two years after Justice League was released, Snyder got a call from his agent informing him that fans had convinced Toby Emmerich to release Snyder’s version as long as Snyder himself was willing. When Justice League premiered in 2017, fans worked together with the hashtag #ReleasetheSnyderCut. Since then, the movement grew so much that even movie stars Gal Gadot and Ben Affleck added their voices.
Snyder’s Cut will be released on HBO Max in 2021. It is unsure if Snyder’s Justice League will be released as a four-hour cut or split into six chapters.
Leto played the Joker in 2016’s Suicide Squad and has now joined the Snyder Cut. Leto joining the cast makes us wonder how much new content will be included in this version of the Justice League. His appearance ties to the new Suicide Squad as Snyder and his wife Deborah, pictured the Joker’s coupling with Harley Quinn was meant to play a bigger role in the DC Cinematic Universe.
The new possible Suicide Squad directed once again by David Ayer will release a different cut where Leto makes more appearances with Margot Robbie. The original film had interference in the editing room where the final product was not what Ayer wanted. There hasn’t been any more information if Ayer’s cut will be issued by HBO Max. However, Snyder’s Cut will be released in 2021.
