Awkwafina and Sandra Oh are teaming up for an untitled, new Netflix comedy.

According to Deadline, the film focuses on the relationship between two sisters, played by Awkwafina and Oh, who couldn’t be more opposite. One lives a solitary life and the other is a crazy mess. However, to repair and strengthen their relationship, the “hot mess” sister promises to get her “lone wolf” sister as a contestant on her favorite reality show to fulfill her dreams.

Jen D’Angelo, the screenwriter for the Hocus Pocus remake on Disney+, will be writing the script. Jessica Elbaum and Will Ferrell will produce the film, as Gloria Sanchez Productions brings it to your TV.

Awkwafina’s most notable work is in The Farewell as Billi, for which she won a history-making Golden Globe. She was also in Crazy Rich Asians and Awkwafina Is Nora from Queens. Her upcoming movies consist of Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, The Prom, Breaking News in Yuba County, and Raya and the Last Dragon.

Oh is currently starring in a TV show called Killing Eve and played Dr. Christina Yang on Grey’s Anatomy. Oh’s many awards include two Golden Globe Awards and four Screen Actors Guild Awards. She has also been nominations for twelve Primetime Emmy Awards. She is also starring in the upcoming horror movie called Umma.

There is no doubt these two talented women will create an amazing movie that many will love for years to come and we can’t wait to see it.
