Beyoncé Encourages Voters and Endorses Biden With Instagram Post
Beyoncé has just endorsed Presidential Candidate Joe Biden and Vice-Presidential Candidate Kamala Harris with a post on Instagram.
The boomerang clip shows the singer in a Biden/Harris mask while she tips down her hat to flash an ‘I Voted’ sticker. Captioned with “Come Thru, Texas! #VOTE”, the post received over 3 million views in less than an hour.
Beyoncé’s call to her home state Texas is significant in this year’s election. A part of Biden’s campaign strategy is to make Texas a blue state. With over a million new voters registered in Texas since 2018, Texas can turn. If Biden wins the state, this will be the first time Texas will be blue since 1976. Last week NBC announced that Texas has moved from a Republican-leaning state to being a tossup.

Critics complained that the endorsement came late, only a day before the election, but defenders of the star reminded opposers that Beyoncé has done her fair share of work behind the scenes to get people registered. The post received positive reactions from voters, fans, and celebrities alike. Fellow stars like Ariana Grande, Zendaya, Demi Lovato, and Lady Gaga reposted the flick of Beyoncé on their Instagram stories.
