Lily James, Emma Thompson, and Shazad Latif are set to appear alongside each other in a new romantic comedy titled What’s Love Got To Do With It?

The film is reportedly being produced by the British production company, Working Titles, and directed by Shekhar Kapur, best known for his Oscar-winning film Elizabeth starring Cate Blanchett.

Jemima Khan will write and produce the film through her Instinct Productions banner. Nicky Kentish Barnes, Eric Fellner, and Tim Bevan are also producing the picture.

Film details are currently being kept under wraps, but it is reportedly a cross-cultural romance about love and marriage that is centered in both London and South Asia.

This comes after the reveal that James is starring alongside Harry Styles in the upcoming film adaption of the LGBTQ+ novel by Bethan Roberts titled My Policeman. The actress also topped the Netflix streaming charts with her recent portrayal in the film Rebecca with Armie Hammer.

Recently, Thompson was a voice actor in Robert Downey Jr.’s Dolittle remake. She is also set to appear in Emma Stone’s Cruella live-action movie next year.

Latif recently worked with James on the upcoming BBC mini-series The Pursuit of Love and is best known for his role on the CBS All Access show Star Trek: Discovery.

The film will begin production starting next month. We can’t wait to see this cross-cultural rom-com on the big screen.
