Lil Nas X Recruits Michael J. Fox for the Trailer for His New Single ‘Holiday’
Lil Nas X is back as The New Santa in the trailer for his new single “Holiday.”
Lil Nas X has announced that he’ll be releasing a new Christmas-themed single, “Holiday,” which will be the rapper’s first single in almost two years. He teased the song on social media and revealed the trailer featuring actor Michael J. Fox.
Lil Nas X is most known for his breakout single “Old Town Road,” which quickly became a worldwide sensation after being shared on social media last year. Billy Ray Cyrus made the country/rap song even bigger by hopping on the remix, earning the song two Grammys for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance and Best Music Video.
Lil Nas X kept the western theme for his “Holiday” trailer, which opens with a drunken Santa Claus being kicked out of a saloon as “Old Town Road” plays in the background. The rapper then takes over as The New Santa and hops in Santa’s sleigh and heads to the future.

Fox then appears, making a nod to his hit movie Back to the Future. “Whatever you do, Nas, don’t go to 2020,” he says, bringing a bit of humor to the tumultuous year we’ve all been experiencing.

“Holiday” is a trap song produced by popular Hip Hop producer Tay Keith, who is responsible for other major hits like Travis Scott’s “Sicko Mode” and Beyonce’s remake of “Before I Let Go.” Lil Nas X teased that he’d also release the accompanying video if his Instagram post reached 15,000 comments.
