‘The Real’ Cast Gets Emotional After Surprise Visit From Jeannie Mai Post-Surgery
Jeannie Mai makes a surprise appearance on The Real and announces her return date.
Jeannie Mai made a virtual appearance on Thursday’s episode of The Real. Due to an emergency throat surgery, Mai had to leave her position on Dancing with the Stars at the beginning of November.
Mai’s virtual showing on Thursday created much excitement and happiness with her co-hosts. Adrienne Houghton broke down in tears of joy when seeing Mai on the show.
“I actually, really might cry. I’m legit crying over here,” Houghton said. “What have you been doing during your recovery time? We miss you so much.”
Although Mai was on the video call, she is still unable to speak because of her surgery. Because of this, she communicated with notecards to her co-hosts about how she has been occupying her time during her recovery. Mai also expressed how deeply she misses her co-hosts and how appreciative she is of their support throughout this difficult time.
“Ladies, miss y’all so much,” Mai’s notecard read. “Adrienne, your ‘Feels Like Home’ concert revived me. Loni, I’ve read your damn book like 10 times. Garcelle, I’ve been loving all your glam on the gram. Basically, I miss you all like crazy. And I’m so thankful to have The Real to keep me company every day.”
The bombshell of Mai”s appearance was when she revealed her return date to the talk show. Incredibly, she will be returning to the show next week.
“I’m allowed to return to work next week and can’t wait!! Been resting my voice and body, so I am ready!” her notecard read. “Hold it down for me #RealFam cuz your Asian sensation is bout to be back.”
@jeanniemai I was in tears to see you today, cards and all!!! You look fantastic! Praying for continued recovery and healing in Jesus name. Looking forward to your return, but don’t rush yourself!!! Love you so much!❤😘🙏
