Bella Hadid Talks Giving Back and Mental Health in an Instagram Post
Bella Hadid shared her thoughts on her mental health and ways to give back to the community during quarantine.
Supermodel Bella Hadid got candid in a lengthy Instagram post, detailing her struggles with happiness and the way that she can stand in solidarity with those in need.
Bella Hadid has been one of the most significant models in the fashion industry, starting her career in 2012. Hadid has graced the covers of prestigious magazines such as Vogue and has walked for famous brands like Victoria’s Secret, Versace, Chanel, and more. She is the younger sister of Gigi Hadid, also a famous super model.
She started off the post addressing her mental health, stating: “I’m gonna be real with you guys. I wake up a majority of the time sad, fatigued and unmotivated, especially when I’m not working everyday like i usually do. As an empath, I feel my body is telling me I need to not only take care of myself , but continue to engage and support the communities around me . To receive happiness and love in your heart , you must first and foremost”
She then continued the post by giving specific recognition to Queens Care Collective, an organization that serves to give aid to communities in Queens, New York. Hadid commented, “They say “solidarity, not charity” which to me, is powerful and something we should always direct back to. It’s not doing charity, it’s moving through your everyday life standing in solidarity with your neighbors, ones that are less fortunate or people that help our cities run and don’t the have time to care for themselves … just a reminder to them that they are important and deserve sustenance and support like every living being on this planet.”
This is not the first of Bella Hadid’s charity initiatives– recently she made homemade tie-dye clothes to donate money to Feeding America. The model teamed up with Chromehearts and sold tee-shirts she hand-dyed her self.
