Lily James and Sebastian Stan will be partnering up to portray a shocking moment in celebrity culture from the 90s.

Stan will play Lee, a founding member of Motley Crue who played drums for the band. Two of their most popular songs are “Kickstart My Heart” and “Girls, Girls, Girls.” James takes the role of Pamela Anderson, a star from Baywatch who was also a Playboy Playmate. The two met on a fateful day in 1995 in which they married after only spending four days together.

The series will be directed by Craig Gillespie, who also directed I, Tonya with Stan starring. This material will be similar in nature to that film as it centered around the Tonya Harding skating scandal that shook the sports world in 1994. The production is scheduled to shoot in the spring, hopefully as lockdowns begin to lighten.

Since the project is based on two celebrities, both Anderson and Lee are aware the production is underway. Their tumultuous relationship has seen its highs and lows that ended with a divorce three years into the relationship. They both have two children together.

While this show is in production, you can watch James in her latest film Rebecca, which was released on Netflix, and you can see Stan reprise his role as the Winter Soldier in the Disney+ series, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.
