Nicole Kidman and Javier Bardem Are Projected to Star in New Aaron Sorkin-Directed Film
In the upcoming film, Being the Ricardos, directed by Aaron Sorkin, actors Javier Bardem and Nicole Kidman are being eyed for the parts of Desi Arnaz and Lucille Ball.
I Love Lucy is an iconic 50’s classic that still manages to put a smile on the face of many. Not only did it originate a number of hilarious, memorable moments, it also broke barriers in terms of representation, being one of the first television series to star an interracial couple.
Although most think this is a spin-off, Meet the Ricardos is actually about the celebrity’s lives and marriage while playing in the famous sitcom. Rumor has it that Australian actress Nicole Kidman, and Spanish actor Javier Bardem are being considered for the roles of the famous Hollywood couple, Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz.

Aaron Sorkin plans to portray the trials of a struggle-some marriage, and a crisis that almost ended their careers. The film appears to be taking on a more serious nature, compared to the upbeat humor of the award-winning sitcom. Being the Ricardos is set to be produced by Amazon Studios and Escape Artists.

Nicole Kidman’s most recent projects include her starring role in a 2020 musical comedy film, The Prom. She is also set to be the star of an upcoming Hulu miniseries, Nine Perfect Strangers. Meanwhile, Javier Bardem has recently acquired the exciting role of King Triton, in Disney’s live-action remake of The Little Mermaid.
Despite who might be cast, fans are eager to witness the two, loved actors be portrayed in a new light.
