Check Out the New ‘Judas and the Black Messiah’ Trailer and Mark Your Calendars With the Official Release Date
The second released trailer for Warner Brothers’ new film Judas and the Black Messiah is leaving many anticipating the movie’s arrival to HBO Max and theatres on February 12.
Since the release of the first trailer in early August 2020, fans worldwide have had their eye on the star-studded movie’s release. Scheduled to premiere back on August 21, 2020, the COVID-19 safety regulations postponed the movie’s release, yet following the new trailer fans are as eager as ever to stream the movie on its new release date of February 12, 2021.
The Get Out actors, Daniel Kaluuya and LaKeith Stanfield, star alongside each other once more in this riveting journey that follows the infamous Black Panther Political Party. Fred Hampton (Kaluuya), a Black Chicago-born activist, gained accreditation within the revolutionary civil rights movement through his work as the chairman of the Black Panther Party’s Illinois chapter.
The Black Panther Party and Hampton were seen as a threat by the FBI and national government, resulting in confidential informant William O’Neal’s (Stanfield) betrayal as his information to the J. Edgar Hoover counter-intelligence agency leads to a raid, killing Hampton. The emotional betrayal coupled with the action element pulls at the audience’s heartstrings, making this a cannot-miss movie for audiences.
i’ve seen enough documentaries on hampton’s death to know that i’m not emotionally ready to watch this, but i will watch it

Given the recent surge and focus on the Black Lives Matter movement, this story comes at a time of intense political and social unrest, which makes the story’s messages all that more powerful. Tracing back to the original civil rights movement of the 1960s, Judas and the Black Messiah hopes of not only telling leader Fred Hampton’s incredible story but also educating audiences of the lesser-known past that often gets overshadowed.
Not only HAPPY, but PROUD to see the story of Fred Hampton reach the theater screens.
