A new docuseries coming to Youtube, Demi Lovato: Dancing With the Devil is set to air in March of this year. WARNING: This article mentions sensitive topics including drug abuse.
Singer and songwriter, Demi Lovato shares her personal stories with fans in her new Youtube docuseries Demi Lovato: Dancing with the Devil, directed by Michael D. Ratner with production from OBB Pictures.
In recent news, Youtube is not the only place fans can enjoy this new series. The world premiere of Demi Lovato: Dancing with the Devil will be during the 2021 SXSW Film Festival, as it’s opening night headliner on March 16. Janet Pierson, Director of Film, stated, “It’s impressive and rare to see a pop superstar tell their story so authentically and without pretense.”
This docuseries is a follow up to the documentary Demi Lovato: Simply Complicated released in October 2017, where the singer opened up about her life as a young pop star. The new docuseries will recap the singer’s career over the last two years, her emotional and mental health, and past issues with drugs, including her almost fatal overdose in 2018.

Lovato states, “It’s been two years since I came face-to-face with the darkest point in my life, and now I’m ready to share my story with the world.” Lovato explains how viewers will see “my chronicle of struggle and ongoing healing from my point of view.”
Lovato took to Instagram earlier in the week to share her excitement regarding her new documentary. Lovato has always aimed to be transparent with her fans and this will help her continue that.
Fans are excited about this news and have been since expressing their eagerness to witness Lovato in such a vulnerable light. The docuseries will be available on Youtube beginning March 23, after it’s initial debut during SXSW 2021.
