Joe Biden Signs Executive Orders Hours After Inauguration
President Joe Biden signed three executive orders in the presence of media, just hours after his inauguration and he continues to do so through the night.
The nation watched as President-elect Joe Biden was sworn into office as the 46th President of The United States. His Vice President, Kamala Harris, made history, becoming the first female and person of color Vice President to be sworn into office. President Biden and Vice President Harris got to work just hours after the inauguration, making one thing clear, they do not plan to waste time.
There is no time to waste when it comes to tackling the crises we face. That’s why today, I am heading to the Oval Office to get right to work delivering bold action and immediate relief for American families.

Biden signing these executive orders is his way of telling America that he is determined to keep his promises. Biden first addressed the COVID-19 pandemic that has been a worldwide issue for a year now. He signed a mask mandate on federal property and hired a response coordinator to oversee the White House’s distribution of vaccines. Many Americans felt that Trump downplayed the severity of COVID-19, even when death polls were rising.
The first executive order Joe Biden signed was on fighting COVID.

“It’s requiring, as I said all along, where I have authority, mandating masks be worn, social distancing be kept on federal property.”
Along with the COVID-19 mandate, Biden has also signed orders that ceased funding for Trump’s wall along the Mexican border and eliminated the travel ban that targets countries with large Muslim populations.

Thank you for lifting Trump’s Muslim ban as promised on day one of your presidency.
FYI — These are some of the Muslim Americans who died serving this Nation. There service to this country will no longer go in vain. Gratitude sir.#MuslimBan pic.twitter.com/ZUEIRjbP9Z
Biden has also reversed the attempts of former President Donald Trump to withdraw from international agreements. He started with rejoining the Paris Climate Accord. For three years, President Donald Trump made efforts to withdraw from the accord. He officially succeeded last year, and Biden promised that he would rejoin the agreement on Inauguration Day if he were elected president.
“I, Joseph R. Biden Jr., President of the United States of America, having seen and considered the Paris Agreement, done at Paris on December 12, 2015, do hereby accept the said Agreement and every article and clause thereof on behalf of the United States of America.” pic.twitter.com/7y2Uo8insX
