Interview with Jillian Lebling

GLITTER: When did you first start acting?
JILLIAN: I started acting when I was six-years-old. My first acting job was playing the role of Ivanka in the Broadway musical, Once.
GLITTER: You’ve also been on Broadway before. Do you like Broadway or TV more?
JILLIAN: I really enjoyed performing on Broadway, but I like TV a little more because it isn’t such a long commitment and I don’t have to be away from friends for a long time.
GLITTER: What can you tell us about your upcoming movie, Bridge of Spies? Who do you play?
JILLIAN: Bridge of Spies is a dramatic thriller about James Donovan; a Brooklyn insurance claims lawyer who finds himself in the center of the Cold War when the CIA sends him on a near-impossible task to negotiate the release of a captured American U-2 pilot. I play Peggy Donovan, the youngest daughter of James Donovan (Tom Hanks) and Mary Donovan (Amy Ryan). The film releases in theaters on October 16, 2015.
GLITTER: What do you enjoy doing on your free time?
JILLIAN: I love to go fishing, bike riding, Geocaching, play guitar, soccer and have sleepovers with my friends. I also like to make up skits and perform for my family and friends.
GLITTER: What was it like to act with Tom Hanks?
JILLIAN: Tom Hanks was really great to work with! I was so excited to get the opportunity to play his daughter in Bridge of Spies. I have seen a lot of his movies and think he is such a great actor.
GLITTER: Is there something about you fans would be surprised to know?
JILLIAN: I think my fans would be surprised to know that I do a special hobby with each of my parents. I really like to go deep sea fishing with my Dad and brother. I have caught shark, flounder, rockfish and just caught my first Mahi Mahi this summer! I also really enjoy Geocaching with my mother. It is fun because it’s like treasure hunting. We get clues and have to find a little box or holder and we write our names on it when we find it.
GLITTER: Best advice you were ever given?
JILLIAN: The best advice I was ever given was to just be a kid! I love acting but I also love doing so many other things with my friends and family.
GLITTER: Is there someone you’d like to work with that you haven’t worked with already?
JILLIAN: I would love to one day work with director M. Night Shyamalan because he makes a lot of scary movies that I really enjoy watching!
