Take a Behind the Scenes Look at the Music Video for Olivia Rodrigo’s ‘Drivers License’
People worldwide have been praising 17-year-old Olivia Rodrigo’s latest single, “Drivers License,” and now she has given fans a look behind the scenes of the hit song’s music video.
Three weeks ago, on January 8, Olivia released her single “driver’s license.” By January 11, “drivers license” was No.1 on the charts. It was and still is streaming everywhere and trending on every social media site. You hear it on the radio during your morning commute. It plays in the grocery store, at the mall, etc. It broke streaming records on Spotify, iTunes, and Pandora. It currently still sits as No. 1 on the Billboard’s hot 100 chart. The song has also been noticed by Billboard as “one of the most dominant No.1’s in the last 30 years. The music video for the song premiered the same night the song was released and now has over 87 million streams on Youtube.

Before releasing “drivers license,” Olivia was most known for her role as Nini in High School Musical: The Musical – The Series, which is available for streaming on Disney+. In the series, Olivia showcased her beautiful voice. She wrote and performed her song “All I Want” on the show. She also recorded a music video for the song, which Disney posted on their Youtube. The “All I Want” music video has over 43 million streams on Youtube. “All I Want” is the song that gained Olivia attention from record labels. In 2020, she signed her record deal with Interscope Records joining famous artists Billie Elish, Ellie Goulding, Lana Del Rey, and several others.
The video “drivers license (Behind The Scenes)” is only three minutes long but gives viewers an in-depth experience of being on set and the meaning of the video. Most music videos have an underlying, more profound meaning that we, as fans, don’t realize. Rodrigo narrates the video and explains the film locations and what each scene meant to her. The behind the scenes video was released on January 27 and already has over 2.2 million streams.
