The Weeknd Teams up With Postmates to Support Black-Owned Restaurants During Black History Month

The Weeknd has partnered with Postmates to help Black-owned restaurants throughout Black History Month.
Postmates has just announced its partnership with The Weeknd to highlight and support Black-owned restaurants throughout Black History Month. Inside the Postmates app, customers can find The Weeknd’s Highlights, which are a collection of Black-owned restaurants chosen by the singer to feature and shine a light on.
This partnership is the first of its kind, making The Weeknd the first entertainer to work with the food delivery service to aid Black-owned restaurants. The collaboration also comes with a special coupon code to give users free delivery on a Postmates order.

The Weeknd’s efforts didn’t end there. To kick off Black History Month, he also worked with Postmates to give hot meals to healthcare workers in Tampa. 150 meals were delivered from the Black-owned restaurant Mama’s Southern Soul Food to workers at AdventHealth Carrollwood ahead of this weekend’s Super Bowl in Tampa, where The Weeknd will perform during the Halftime Show.
I love this idea! @theweeknd teamed up with @Postmates and delivered meals from Mama’s Southern Soul Food—a local Black-owned restaurant – to @AdventHealth workers! ALL of these frontline workers deserve SO much! https://t.co/CH507XSgL8

This isn’t the first time the “Blinding Lights” singer has helped frontline workers. Back in June, he donated $1 million to COVID relief, giving $500K to MusiCares COVID-19 Relief, the Recording Academy’s initiative to support musicians during the pandemic, and another $500K to frontline healthcare workers in his hometown of Scarborough, Canada.
It was super dope that The Weeknd wanted to postmate meals to healthcare workers in Tampa (host city of Super Bowl where he will be performing) 💯 https://t.co/sG4k3bjLmB

Also in June, The Weeknd gave $500K to support various Black Lives Matter causes, and he encouraged other celebrities to do the same. Fans are applauding his continued efforts to use his resources to assist those in need during the pandemic.
This is my neighborhood. One more reason to love @theweeknd
