BTS’s ‘Dynamite’ Outfits Sell for $162k at Charity Auction
BTS has donated their iconic outfits from the music video for their hit single, “Dynamite” to the Recording Academy for their 2021 MusiCares Charity Relief Auction.
The “Dynamite” outfits included an array of pastel-colored clothing, with different shades of blue, pink, yellow, and purple shirts, pants, sneakers, and hats. The profit from these costumes will be used by MusiCares to “provide aid to artists and music community professionals in time of need” and were donated from the k-pop group themselves.
The iconic outfits were estimated to be worth $20,000 to $40,000 by the global record-breaking auction house, Julien’s auctions. The set of 7 total outfits ended up selling for over eight times that price, for a total of $162,500, making it the top-selling item of the auction.
