Tina Fey and Amy Poehler plan to host the 78th Golden Globe Awards from different coasts.

With COVID-19 restrictions, the 78th Golden Globe Awards have been much different from the previous 77 shows. Back in 2015, the duo hosted the ceremony. However, this time around the two won’t even be in the same room. This will be the first time in Global Globe history where it will be broadcasted from multiples locations.

Fey will be located on the East Coast in New York City atop the Rockefeller Center in The Rainbow Room, while Poehler will be placed on the West Coast in Beverly Hills, California where the awards usually take place. Last year’s host was Ricky Gervais and the viewer count was record-breaking with 19.2 million viewers.

Hollywood Foreign Press Association, NBC, and the Global Globes producer Dick Clark Prods. continue to decide on details that have been affected by the pandemic, like if nominees will be invited in person or remote. Satchel and Jackson Lee will continue to serve as the Golden Globe Ambassadors for this year.

Television nomination ballots were due on Jan. 12 and picture nomination ballots were due on Jan. 30. The counts of the ballots will be mailed and recorded to all HFPA members by Ernst & Young on Feb. 10.

The date of the broadcast was pushed back about two months because of the pandemic. The ceremony will be aired live on Sunday, Feb. 28, at 5 p.m. PT/8 p.m. ET on NBC.
