‘The Equalizer’ Has Been Renewed for a Season 2 at CBS
CBS has announced that The Equalizer starring Queen Latifah as the first female Equalizer, has been renewed for a second season.
For fans of The Equalizer, March 9 became an exciting day as CBS revealed that viewers will be able to watch Robyn McCall continue to fight crime and balance life as a single mother to her daughter Delilah for another season.
The series follows Queen Latifah as the starring role, Robyn McCall, the mysterious and skillful former CIA operative. She also functions as a guardian angel for those that are in trouble and have nowhere else to turn to for help. Viewers have watched Latifah raise her daughter Delilah (Laya DeLeon Hayes), and have a close friendship with William Bishop (Chris Noth), a former CIA handler.
President of CBS Entertainment Kelly Kahl issued a statement on behalf of the network stating, “The Equalizer has proven more than equal to the task of engaging viewers and racking up wins on Sunday night, and we’re extremely proud to see this outstanding broadcast drama, led by Queen Latifah, punch through the competitive landscape and return for a second season.”
The actress took to social media herself to share the exciting news. She captioned her tweet, “Excited to share that we will have a Season 2 for #TheEqualizer !”
