The HAIM sisters rocked the stage as they performed “The Steps,” which was up for Best Rock Performance this year. It’s the leading single from their latest album Women in Music Pt III. This 2020 project was also nominated for Album of the Year.

Although their debut album Days Are Gone was released back in 2013, HAIM’s success began taking off after Women in Music Pt III was released. The album reached the top spot on Billboard’s Top Rock Albums and Top Alternative Albums charts, and it was named one of 2020’s best albums by publications like The Guardian, NPR, and Pitchfork.

The sisters helped set the tone for the show, which was held to a small socially-distanced outdoor audience in Los Angeles. Performances took place inside in a much more intimate setting than in previous years as celebs watched from the sidelines.

Another way this year’s show was different was that it opened with back-to-back performances from Harry Styles, HAIM and Billie Eilish. Instead of going backstage, each act stayed to watch each other from just feet away.

Known for their 80s-inspired sound, HAIM rocked the house, giving on-point vocals and stellar instrumentals while host Trevor Noah danced along. Lead singer Danielle Haim didn’t miss a note as she sang while perfecting the drums.

The also girls stunned on the red carpet in coordinating lavender Prada outfits as they soaked in the excitement. The night was extra special for eldest sister Este Haim who celebrated her 35th birthday, making the day even more memorable for the band.

Although the circumstances were much different this year, the Grammys still managed to deliver in the performance department while also following safety measures. Be sure to keep up with HAIM on their Instagram and Twitter.
