Disney’s ‘Cruella,’ Starring Emma Stone, Drops Dramatic New Sneak Peek
Walt Disney Studios released a new sneak and still images for the live-action “Cruella” movie, which follows Emma Stone as Estella, on a journey to become the Disney villain. Set in the 1970s punk rock scene – Estella is an underappreciated custodian that gets stepped on while cleaning the floors of a lobby. Her life appears to change around once she encounters Baroness von Hellman (Emma Thompson). Von Hellman is a fashion legend, that takes interest in Estella’s flair for fashion.

The fiery red-haired Estella is artistically ambitious and can be seen creating her clothing pieces in the video. All the costumes have elegant attention to detail to further advance the narrative that Estella is the stylish Cruella we all fear.

Art is not the only thing that Estella wants to make, but she is also stirring up trouble with her friends Jasper (Paul Walter Hauser) and Horace (Joel Fry). The group is seen causing havoc during a red-carpet event where they light up a building with the words “Cruella” all over it.

Baroness von Hellman does enjoy being undermined by Estella’s talent. Telling her that “whether you have the killer instinct, is the big question” while scolding her during a small conversation at a restaurant.
Estella replies, “I hope, I do.” Academy award-winners Emma Stone and Emma Thompson will be going head-to-head on the big screen to showcase their dominance of who is the better fashion legend.
One of the new still images shows Estella with the words “the future” written across her face to showcase supremacy over Baroness von Hellman. She is determined to make a name for herself in the fashion world, and no one can seem to stop this creative genius so far.
Their relationship sets the course for Estella to transform into the fashionable Cruella de Vil. “Cruella” might answer the question as to why the villain was so determined to make a fur coat out of dogs. The movie is set to be released on Friday, May 28.
“Cruella” is directed by Craig Gillespie (“I Tonya”) and produced by Andrew Gunn (“Freaky Friday”), Marc Platt (“Mary Poppins Returns”) and Kristin Burr (“Christopher Robin”), with Emma Stone and Michelle Wright (“Baby Driver”) serving as executive producers. Two-time Oscar-winning costume designer Jenny Beavan (“Mad Max: Fury Road,” “A Room with a View”).
