Meghan Trainor has revealed she will be starring and helping to develop a sitcom with NBCUniversal Television and Streaming Entertainment. This year is off to a great start for the singer. Trainor recently became a mom in February when she welcomed her son Riley with husband Daryl Sabara. One month later, she has revealed to have joined the NBC family, embarking on a new venture starring in a new comedy series.

Trainor took to Twitter to thank her team and Susan Rovner for making this happen. In her tweet, Trainor reveals a picture to her fans detailing the major deal she has landed with NBCU TV. In addition to NBC, the sitcom deal is also linked to other services such as Bravo, E!, Oxygen, SYFY, Universal Kids, USA, and Peacock.

Susan Rovner, the chairman, said in a statement about Trainor that her personality is the perfect fit for the NBC team. Rovner continues, “We love the idea of introducing Meghan into the world of scripted comedy as well working with her to find all the creative and crazy ways she can engage with fans across our brands. With eight distinct platforms, we’re able to provide the ultimate playground for multi-hyphenate artists, and this is just one of the ways we’re leveraging our new structure to benefit both talent and audiences.”

Not much has been divulged regarding the comedy sitcom. It is in its most early stages, with no writers as of right now. Trainor is very excited about being involved in the development of a television series. Her fans are also extremely excited about the production.
