Elizabeth Lail Cast in the Highly-Anticipated HBO Max ‘Gossip Girl’ Reboot
Making her way through Hollywood in shows like You and Once Upon a Time, Elizabeth Lail has joined the cast of the Gossip Girl reboot. The reboot will be released later this year on HBO Max through Warner Bros Television and CBS Television Studios.
First reported by Deadline, little else is known about her role in the reboot. Lail’s breakout role came from playing Beck in the first season of Netflix’s You where she starred opposite Penn Badgley – himself a veteran cast member of the original Gossip Girl series.
Lail has since appeared in shows like Once Upon a Time, playing the role of Anna from Disney’s Frozen, Dead of Summer, and The Blacklist. She is currently filming for another role in the indie rom-com Mack and Rita, which is set to release this summer.

Lail will be joining an ensemble cast that includes Jordan Alexander, Julien Calloway, Whitney Peak, and Thomas Doherty, among others. The 10-episode series will follow a new generation of teens navigating social media and the changing New York scene nearly eight years after the original Gossip Girl came to its conclusion.
“I think of it like the Marvel universe. It’s not a continuation or a sequel. It truly just is looking at a different angle,” writer and producer Josh Safran told ET about the expectations for the reboot.
The start of a new term begs the question: who will have what it takes to rise to the top of Constance’s social class? You know I’m keeping a close eye on the ranks. XOXO, Gossip Girl pic.twitter.com/rnik1TX2qo

Though some things will never change, like Kristen Bell continuing her role as the voice of Gossip Girl herself. XOXO. So, Upper East Siders, if you come across a mysterious blonde toting designer bags and a Constance uniform, it may very well mean that Elizabeth Lail has arrived in town.
