Concerts at The Hollywood Bowl will soon open back up in May and capacity will be limited to about 4,000 people. As California’s safety guidelines concerning reopening are altered, the outdoor venue will be able to slowly welcome more people as we head into summer.

Four free concerts will kick off the opening in May and June with first respondents, essential workers, and healthcare professionals given priority attendance. Once July rolls around, the venue will host 14 weeks of events. Some of the most notable being a sing-a-long Sound of Music event, a Tchaikovsky event, and Fourth of July fireworks.

“After more than a year of tremendous hardship and incredible demonstrations of resilience and care across our community, we are looking forward to reuniting our audiences with one another and with live music at the Hollywood Bowl and The Ford,” chief executive officer Chad Smith said. “We are wasting no time in hiring seasonal staff and implementing policies and procedures designed for the safety of our audiences, artists, and staff.”

California Governor Gavin Newsom announced the plan to lift many of the pandemic restrictions on businesses and workplaces by June 15th. As more and more people being vaccinated across California and the country, things will begin to go back to normal. Many people can return to their favorite spots, including The Hollywood Bowl, soon enough.

The program for the concerts will be announced on May 11, so get ready to see quality entertainment in the coming months.
