Cube Entertainment has dropped an animated teaser video revealing their newest k-pop girl group, LIGHTSUM, and the group’s logo. The group will join Cube Entertainment’s roster of well-loved girl groups (G)-IDLE, CLC, Pentagon, and more. The group’s debut is rumored by fans to launch in May.

A tweet made by Cube Entertainment’s official account shared a photo of the new group’s logo, showing the group’s name ‘LIGHTSUM’ in a glossy, retro font against a soft pink background. Alongside the photo was the caption announcing the girl group. It states, “‘LIGHTSUM’ so that the bright lights (LIGHT) become one (SUM) and reach all of the world, A group that will deliver greater positive energy through a message of hope to all.” The tweet also tagged the girl group’s brand new Twitter account, @CUBE_LIGHTSUM.

The official LIGHTSUM Twitter account also shared a link to a YouTube video, teasing the group’s logo and officially announcing the new debut. The 16-second video opens with a majestic box with the word ‘LIGHTSUM’ printed across it, opening to reveal a bright light. From there, the video shows quick flashes of a variety of images-rainbow cats, a camera lens, plants growing, a mirror laying in the grass, headphones surrounded by cassette tapes, and so on. The video ends with an animation of the logo exploding onto the page, with ‘debut’ displayed across the top.

More details on the girl group’s debut are yet to be announced but fans are already thrilled. Follow LIGHTSUM on Twitter to stay updated.
