H.E.R. Pays Homage To Prince With Peter Dundas Jumpsuit

H.E.R. made her Oscars debut on April 25, and it will go down as one of the most memorable outfits. The Academy Award-winning singer paid homage to the late icon, Prince, who died five years ago last week. Prince wore a strikingly similar beaded outfit when he received his Oscar for Best Original Song Score for Purple Rain back in 1985. Over three decades have passed since Prince wore the stunning outfit and H.E.R. has decided to put her own spin on it. Her lyrics to the Oscar-nominated song, "Fight For You" had been bordered onto her cape and pants. H.E.R. completed the look with signature round sunglasses and flowing, wavy hair parted to one side. She is covered from head-to-toe, rocking the all-blue beaded jumpsuit and hooded cape designed by Peter Dundas.

H.E.R. expressed how much Prince has influenced her music identity. Wouri Vice, her stylist, took to social media to reveal that their discussion of Prince’s first Oscar attendance back in 1985 had put them in the right direction towards H.E.R’s success.

This is not the first time H.E.R. has shown her love for Prince. She delivered a stunning rendition of “The Beautiful Ones” in January 2020 for “Let’s Go Crazy: The Grammy Salute to Prince.” She lit up the stage that night among many other stellar stars.

H.E.R. had received her first Oscar for Best Original Song with “Fight For You” which appears in the film, Judas and the Black Messiah. The singer expressed her gratitude to God, her family, and her team for bringing this song to life. You can watch her acceptance speech below.

We could not be more proud of H.E.R., who is now halfway to EGOT status. Be sure to stream her song “Fight For You” on all music platforms. Judas and the Black Messiah can also be streamed on Amazon Prime.
