The Legally Blonde actress, Reese Witherspoon, is using her star power to promote and create equality in Hollywood and beyond. In 2016 Witherspoon founded her media company "Hello Sunshine" which according to the website was created to place "women at the center of every story we create, celebrate and discover." Her goal is to support women on their path to success. Witherspoon's hard work is paying off as she was recently featured on the cover of Time Magazine in their "100 Most Influential Companies" edition.

Hello Sunshine focuses on media platforms such as TV shows, films, and podcasts, mainly working towards adapting books into feature-length films.

Witherspoon uplifts the voices of women, in spaces where they have been ignored for too long. Hello Sunshine features a book club that promotes female authors and stories. The book club boasts the slogan of “Women: May we write them truer, raise them higher and read them here.”

The latest pick for April is Northern Spy which is written by a woman, Flynn Berry, and centers on the story of a young Irish mother getting involved with the IRA. Featured authors truly find their spotlight through the book club, many have gone on to become New York Times bestsellers.

Support for Witherspoon has grown immensely over the years as her star power rises, and fans are not afraid to show it.

As Witherspoon is cementing her place as a strong powerful woman in Hollywood, she wants to do the same for others. The star stated in her Time magazine interview, that she strives to, “make a lot of women a lot of money”. Moving forward the goal for Reese Witherspoon as the head of “Hello Sunshine”, is to continue uplifting the voices of women.
